TOWN BOARD Meeting Minutes

Monday, December 9, 2024

 

A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on

Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Marion Court Room.

 

Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.

 

PRESENT:         Summer Johnson, Supervisor

Michael Cramer, Councilman

Julie Herman, Councilwoman

Ronald Lonneville, Councilman

Margi Taber, Councilwoman

 

ABSENT:

 

OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE:  Marcia Lonneville; Casey Carpenter, Times of Wayne County.

Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Public Hearing: 6:30pm

 

  1. Amend Fee Schedule for 2025

Supervisor Johnson opened the public hearing at 6:30pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to read the legal notice.  After the legal notice was read, Supervisor Johnson asked if anyone had any questions or concerns.  After asking three times, the public hearing was closed at 6:31pm.

 

  1. Amend Marion Cemetery Rules and Regulations

Supervisor Johnson opened the public hearing at 6:32pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to read the legal notice.  After the legal notice was read, Supervisor Johnson asked if anyone had any questions or concerns.  Supervisor Johnson asked three times and with no one coming forward, the public hearing was closed at 6:33pm.

 

Acknowledgments:

Councilman Lonneville thanked the Marion American Legion for hosting the Pearl Harbor Ceremony for Wayne County.  Assemblyman Brian Manketlow attended.

  1. Scheduling Organizational Meeting for First Week in January 2025(Presented by H. Levan + S. Johnson)

A decision was made to hold the Marion Town Board organizational meeting on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 6:30pm.

  2. Drainage Admin Payroll VS Stipend (Presented by S. Johnson)
  3. Tax Insert Newsletter(Presented by H. Levan)
  4. December 30th meeting (Presented by S. Johnson)

A decision was made to hold the December 30th at 3pm in the Marion Town Park main lodge.  A notice will be given to the Times of Wayne County.

Town Clerk, Heidi Levan spoke regarding a scavenger hunt in the Town of Marion coming in December.

Resolution #12022024 Local Law #3-2024 Amend Fee Schedule for 2025

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board met and held a Public Hearing on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Marion Court Room to amend the Town of Marion Fee Schedule for 2025 and;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the amended fee schedule to begin on January 1, 2025 and;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that a copy of the amended Fee Schedule for the Town of Marion can be obtained at the Marion Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours and;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk and all Department Heads.

 

Resolution #12032024 Local Law #4-2024 Amend Marion Cemetery Rules and Regulations

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board met and head a Public Hearing on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Marion Court Room to amend the Marion Cemetery Rules and Regulations and;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board approves the amended Marion Cemetery Rules and Regulations and;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that a copy of the new Marion Cemetery Rules and Regulations can be obtained at the Marion Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours and;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #12042024 Town Board Awards the Pest Control Contract for the Town Park to All Seasons Pest Control

 

On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

The following resolution was approved.

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Marion sent out an RFP to obtain bids for Pest Control work at the Town Park; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Marion received 3 bids; and

WHEREAS, the Town Board reviewed 3 bids; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board awards the contract to All Seasons Pest Control, Geneva NY, to complete the seasonal and quarterly checks throughout 2025 for the control and maintenance of all pest, including indoor structures at the park for the amount not to exceed  $875.00 to be expensed from park  account funds 71104.01.000.078; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to All Seasons Pest Control and the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #12052024 Authorize the Supervisor to Sign and Approve of the 2025 Accident Insurance Premium Quote

 

On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

The following resolution was approved.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Supervisor to sign and approve of the 2025 accident insurance premium quote for $681.00 underwritten by Philadelphia; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #12062024 Authorize the Installation of a WIFI Modem at the Town Park 

 

On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilman Lonneville

The following resolution was approved.

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Marion is in need of having WIFI at the town park; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the installation of a modem provided by Verizon Wireless at the town park with a monthly cost not to exceed $40; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

 

 

 

Resolution #12072024 Payment of Claims

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Herman
