A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, October 7 2024 at the Marion Court Room.
Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.

Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.
Discussion:
The Town Board met and discussed the 2025 budget for the Town of Marion.
The following were changes made to the budget. Most changes were made with a motion/second and long roll vote of the Town Board members. These changes will go into the Preliminary budget.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #10101.01.0.002 – Website Social Media was added back to the budget with a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Taber, Line Item #11101.01.0.009 – Court Clerk increase to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #12201.01.0.021 – Account Clerk increase to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #12201.01.0.022 – Budget Officer no increase in pay. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Herman, Line Item #12201.01.0.249 – Clerk Town Hall to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #13551.01.0.023 – Assessor PT Clerk increase to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilwoman Herman, Line Item #14101.01.0.000 – Town Clerk increase to reflect a 3% raise not a 7% raise as was proposed by the Supervisor Johnson . The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – aye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 5 ayes to 0 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Taber, Line Item #16201.01.0.041 – Building Cleaner PT increase to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – aye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 5 ayes to 0 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #16201.01.0.159 – Outside Maintenance increase to reflect a 3% raise not a 7.6% raise as was proposed by Supervisor Johnson. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #35101.01.0.0 – Dog Control Officer increase to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.

On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #40201.01.0.229 – Deputy registrar, Vital records increase to reflect a 3% raise. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #50101.0.058 – Highway Superintendent increase to reflect a 3% raise. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Herman, Line Item #50101.01.0.059 -Highway Secretary increase to reflect a 3% raise. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilwoman Taber and second by Councilwoman Herman, Line Item #471101.01.0.041 Park Cleaner to reflect a 3% raise. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilman Lonneville, Line Item #73101.0.0.081 Youth Program – Head Counselor remove all pay for 2025. If the grant that was applied for is not received, the Town Board will do a budget amendment to bring back this payroll line with a 3% raise for 2025. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Herman, Line Item #73101.0.0.081 Youth Program – Counselors remove all pay for 2025. If the grant that was applied for is not received, the Town Board will do a budget amendment to bring back this payroll line with a 3% raise for 2025. On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Taber, Line Item #73101.01.0.083 Summer Recreation Director to reflect a 3% raise. On a Motion from Councilwoman Herman and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #88101.01.0.250 Cemetery Town Clerk to reflect a 3% raise on last year’s salary of $3000 for 2025. The Town Supervisor had in include $1000 in the 2025 budget. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #88101.01.0.251 & 88101.01.0.252 Cemetery Deputy Town Clerk’s to reflect a 3% raise on last year’s salary of $2000 for 2025. The Town Supervisor has taken the payroll out of the budget for 2025. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Lonneville and second by Councilman Cramer, Line Item #88101.01.0.253 Cemetery Account Clerk to reflect a 3% raise on last year’s salary of $3000 for 2025. The Town Supervisor has taken the payroll out of the budget for 2025. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilwoman Herman, Line Item #88101.01.0.254 Cemetery – Maintenance Supervisor to reflect a 3% raise on last year’s salary of $3000 for 2025. The Town Supervisor had in include $1000 in the 2025 budget. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. On a Motion from Councilwoman Taber and second by Councilman Lonneville, Line Item #71102.01.0.021 Parks – Civic Recreation Software to reflect removing this line item from the 2025 budget. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – Naye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 4 ayes to 1 nays.
On a Motion from Councilman Cramer and second by Councilman Lonneville, Line Item #99509.01 Lawnmover Transer to reflect an increase to $5,200. The long roll vote was as follows: Supervisor Johnson – aye. Councilwoman Herman – aye, Councilman Cramer – aye, Councilman Lonneville – aye, Councilwoman Taber – aye. The motion was passed 5 ayes to 0 nays.
With no further business, on a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 8:14pm.
