Tuesday, May 28, 2024
A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Marion Court Room.
Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.
PRESENT: Summer Johnson, Supervisor

Margi Taber, Councilwoman
ABSENT:
OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: 8 people were in attendance.
Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

Resolution #5212024 Authorize Public Hearing for Appropriation from Library Building Reserve to Purchase Air Conditioner
On a motion from Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, this resolution was tabled.
BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Town Board Authorizes a public hearing for appropriation from Library equipment reserve on June 10, 2024 @ 6:30 pm; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Tracy Whitney and the Principal Account Clerk
Resolution #5222024 Authorizing MRB Group to submit the DWSRF IUP listing update on Marion’s behalf
On a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Cramer

BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Town Board authorizes MRB Group to submit the DWSRF IUP listing on Marion’s behalf; and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the MRB Group and the Principal Account Clerk
Resolution #5232024 Authorize Hiring Alan Cruz for 2024 Seasonal Lawn Care/Maintenance at the Marion Cemetery

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes Alan Cruz for 2024 seasonal Lawn Care/Maintenance for the Marion Cemetery remuneration of $15/hour to be appropriated from account 88101.01.000.255; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Alan Cruz and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #5242024 Authorization to Accept the 2024 RFA 032-23 youth Development, Summer Recreation Programming Grant Totaling $49,964 and to Amend Town Budget

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board accepts the 2024 RFA 032-23 Youth Development, Summer Recreation Programming Grant for a total of $49,964 and amend the 2024 town budget
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Wayne County Youth and Aging and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #5252024 Authorization to Accept the Hiring of Whitney Welch for the Summer Recreation Camp Program Head Counselor Position at the pay rate of $18.00 to be paid from the Youth Development Program Grant

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Whitney Welch and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #5262024 Allow Marion Town Court to Establish a Petty Cash Fund
On a motion from Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, this resolution was tabled.
WHEREAS, the Marion Town is in need of establishing a petty cash fund; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board allows the Marion Town Court to establish a petty cash fund for $100; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Court Clerk and the Principal Account Clerk.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Supervisor to sign the attached 2024 contract with Wayne County Public Works – Mowing; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the County of Wayne, Marion Highway Superintendent, and Principal Account Clerk.

The following resolution was approved.
WHEREAS, Town Historian Emma Erdeli has been dismissed from her employment to be effective May 28, 2024; now
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board accepts the resignation of Historian; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

The Board went into executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person on a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman at 7:44 pm
With no further business, on a motion by Councilwoman Taber and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 8:01pm.
