A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Marion Court Room.
Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.
PRESENT: Summer Johnson, Supervisor
Michael Cramer, Councilman
Julie Herman, Councilwoman
Ronald Lonneville, Councilman
Margi Taber, Councilwoman
ABSENT:
OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: 7 people were in attendance.
Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Marion Town Board will allow anyone who would like to speak for 3 minutes each with a maximum of 15 minutes of the meeting devoted to citizens’ comments. There will be time allocated at both the beginning and the end of the meeting.

Resolution #6122024 Authorize Advertising for Town Historian Job

The following resolution was adopted
BE IT RESOLVED, the Town of Marion authorizes the advertising for the position of Town of Marion Historian. Applications may be picked up at the Marion Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. Applications will be accepted until July 12, 2024; and
The pay for this position for the remainder of 2024 is $2,855.50, to be paid in two payments from expense line: 75101.01.0.000; and
For more information, please contact Councilwoman Herman and/or Supervisor Johnson; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk
Resolution #6132024 Authorization to Apply and Submit for Funding From the NYS Department of State of Smart Growth Community Planning and Zoning Grant

The following resolution was adopted
BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Town Board authorizes the Town to apply and submit for funding from the NYS Department of State of Smart Growth Community Planning and Zoning Grant; and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Supervisor Johnson and the Principal Account Clerk

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board accepts the resignation of Emma Kelly for the 2024 seasonal position of Summer Recreation Camp Counselor effective immediately; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Emma Kelly, Morgan Silco and the Principal Account Clerk.

The following resolution was adopted
WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board has received and audited the following claims; now
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to pay said claims upon receipt of the signed abstracts of audited claims from the Town Clerk.

The Board went into executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person on a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilman Lonneville at 7:07 pm
With no further business, on a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilman Lonneville, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 7:27 pm.
